This abstract work was produced by utilising my new method to art making, painting with a palette knife with my right hand while being naturally left-handed. This approach came about recently after completing my ‘Tugu’ Series and it is a tribute to my favourite band Pearl Jam. The band and its lead singer Eddie Vedder has the biggest influence on me as a visual artist and a musician. The songs ‘Alive’, ‘Even Flow’ and ‘Garden’ were written based on issues surrounding conflicts of identity, homelessness and the needs of modern society pertaining to the environment and our behaviour as human beings. I consider my work as a meditation on nature with the forms, structures and the images of hills being utilised for modernsation in the painting are meant to act as reminders to the viewers of what we have done and what we are to become.
