HOM Art Trans has initiated two awards with the aim of promoting and highlighting the caliber and capabilities of young artists in Malaysia.

MEA Award (Malaysian Emerging Artist Award)

MEA Award is a biennial competition jointly organized by HOM Art Trans and Galeri Chandan. Its main goal is to honor and recognize Malaysia’s most promising young talents and give them the opportunity to break into the local and international art scenes.

Each of the five artists with the highest number of votes cast by a panel of 15 guest jurors receives cash prize, a voucher for art materials, a 10-day travel grant to a city in Southeast Asia and have his/her winning work exhibited.

So far, 15 artists have won the award.

Young Guns

The Young Guns is a triennial award given by HOM Art Trans to one upcoming young artist deemed to have made a significant impact in the field of visual arts by displaying consistency, perseverance and excellent quality in his/her artistic practice.

The award is hopefully able to push the artist to further develop his/her talent and make a greater contribution to the visual arts. The endorsement that the young artist receives through this award will surely increase the value of his/her work and serves as a springboard to reach greater heights in his/her personal life and artistic career.

13 artists have received this award in 2013, and 16 artists in 2016.
